Sentinel Cyber Safety Case — Intermediate: Connect Sources, Barriers and Independent Review

Build traceable evidence dependencies and prepare a defensible case for independent review.

Learn at your own pace

Three practical lessons, exercises and worked answers. Allow approximately 60–90 minutes including assessment, divided into short sessions to suit you. No trainer is required.

Before you begin

Complete Cyber Safety Case Beginner or have equivalent practical knowledge.

Your learning journey

  1. Connect source assessments to precise claims — Preserve the distinction between source records and the broader case argument.
  2. Define shared barriers and performance evidence — Evaluate control condition without mistaking labels for physical performance.
  3. Prepare submission, review and handover — Preserve independence and distinguish working exports from issued evidence.

Practice and assessment

Use a notebook or authorised fictional workspace. The separate final test contains ten single-choice questions worth one point each. Seven correct answers achieve the 70% pass mark. Complete the required lessons and assessment to earn the Sentinel course certificate. The worked exercises are self-check activities; the knowledge test does not certify practical workplace competence.

Access and scope

Enrolment is allocated by the Academy administrator. A software subscription is not needed to complete notebook exercises. Editing Sentinel requires the appropriate account, permissions, licence and workplace authority. This course records learning; it does not establish technical competence, regulatory acceptance or authority to accept operational risk.

Adapted from Safetyman International’s Cyber Safety and Assurance Case trainer manual, edition 1.0, 24 October 2026, software baseline 1.2.0. This self-paced knowledge course is separate from its facilitated practical assessment. NCSC CAF orientation and NIST CSF resources checked 27 October 2026. Establish applicability and current requirements separately.
