Sentinel Competence — Intermediate: Design Assessments and Review Restrictions

Define task criteria, evaluate practical evidence and make bounded authorisation decisions.

Learn at your own pace

Three practical lessons, exercises and worked answers. Allow approximately 60–90 minutes including assessment, divided into short sessions to suit you. No trainer is required.

Before you begin

Complete Competence Beginner or have equivalent practical knowledge.

Your learning journey

  1. Define requirements that can be assessed — Translate task risk into observable knowledge and skill criteria.
  2. Evaluate practical evidence and assessor judgement — Distinguish sufficient demonstration from confidence or familiarity.
  3. Manage renewal, changes and suspension — Keep authorisation aligned with current work and evidence.

Practice and assessment

Use a notebook or authorised fictional workspace. The separate final test contains ten single-choice questions worth one point each. Seven correct answers achieve the 70% pass mark. Complete the required lessons and assessment to earn the Sentinel course certificate. The worked exercises are self-check activities; the knowledge test does not certify practical workplace competence.

Access and scope

Enrolment is allocated by the Academy administrator. A software subscription is not needed to complete notebook exercises. Editing Sentinel requires the appropriate account, permissions, licence and workplace authority. This course records learning; it does not establish technical competence, regulatory acceptance or authority to accept operational risk.
