Sentinel 5 Whys — Intermediate: Test the Explanation

Build and challenge an evidence-led causal chain, resolve conflicting accounts and specify actions that can be checked.

Learn at your own pace

Three practical lessons combine clear explanations, fictional case decisions and worked answers. No trainer is required. Allow approximately 60–90 minutes including practice and assessment, split into short sessions to suit you.

Before you begin

Complete 5 Whys Beginner, or be able to write a neutral event statement and distinguish a source from a finding.

Your learning journey

  1. Test competing explanations — Plan enquiries that could disprove your preferred explanation, not merely collect support for it.
  2. Resolve conflicts and strengthen the chain — Explain each causal link, retain contradictions and distinguish confidence from consensus.
  3. Turn a reviewed finding into measurable improvement — Connect a supported finding to an accountable action and an effectiveness review across the suite.

Practice and assessment

Use a notebook or an authorised fictional training workspace. Do not upload real witness statements or company evidence to a demonstration. Each lesson includes a task and an expandable worked answer. The final assessment has ten questions worth one point each. Seven correct answers achieve the 70% pass mark. Complete the required learning and assessment to earn the course certificate.

Connected learning
